The purpose of advertising in the Yellow
Pages is to get new business. This may seem obvious
to you. But while our competitors talk about the nice

In a report done by Dr. Doug Berdie and
Dr. Elaine Hauff, entitled "The Yellow Pages Report",
they had consumers look at over 2,000 ads in 252 different
headings. They found that 55% of the consumers selected
a business based on what the ad said; 51% based on the
amount of information in the ad; 47% based on the location
of the business; 35% based on ad size; and less than
3% based on graphics and color.
All of this shows that when advertising
in the Yellow Pages, persuasive content is the key to
getting prospects to call you.
