Construction Company Goes From Zero To
$4.8 Million To Takeover Target
Client Profile:
Start-Up Construction Company, that builds computer
server clean rooms, trying to break into a market with
established competitors.
Opportunity:
Market research showed that there were no companies
overseeing both building the computer server rooms and
the design of the computer network. Having two separate
companies provide these services usually resulted in
time delays, increased costs, and inadequate cooling,
ventilation, and fire protection for the server room
and poor performance of the computer network.
Solution:
We repositioned the company by first changing their
name to Design/Build Networks. We then facilitated a
strategic alliance with an established computer installation
firm. Because of the cooperative efforts of the two
companies, they were able to design and build server
rooms and computer networks faster and at a lower cost
than their competitors.
Result: The
result was over $4.8 Million in contract work the first
year of their strategic alliance.
(Note: The owners sold
Design/Build Networks in its third year of operation
to a large national construction company.)
